Proposed Sugar Tax 2012
Dr Michael Crowe questioned the benefits of the Health Minister's proposed sugar tax in an article written for the Journal of the Irish Dental Association. This has been subsequently referrred to in many news media reports debating the merits of a soft drink tax in combating obesity. The "apparently obvious" link between the two belies a much more complicated story when the science is examined. The last link below provides a good scientific basis for this debate.
